Going to college was a main driver for me.” “I decided to learn for myself so I wasn’t broke in my 40s. “I made money in my 20s, became sober in my 30s, looked around and didn’t know who I could trust for money advice,” he reflects now. Another epic performance by Seattles darlings performing Im Already Dead, The Whole Worlds Watching, and Your Secrets Safe With Me, Walking Papers are. (Duff) McKagan didn’t follow a traditional path to attend college. Not trying to talk anyone out of it.Seattle native Michael A. That said, anyone who really wants to see them should go see them. I haven't seen them on this tour mind you but you don't have to actually be there to hear how he sounds. Just watch some of the concert clips online. You don't have to take anyone's word for it. Eventually we did get Chinese Democracy, so I suppose anything is possible. We've heard this tune so many times before, and that was when these guys were younger and hungrier. Or in the mid-90s, when Slash would talk about new music. Feels like back in the early 2000's when we'd get lots of band members saying new music was on the way, or Axl talking about a trilogy. I am genuinely shocked people think new music is coming. Sorry for the negativity, but that's basically how I feel. I was surprised they just played a new song. It's just always felt like a cash grab to me, and given what they have done over these five years I think that's been proven correct. I'm not a fan of Richard and Frank in the band. But I have paid almost no attention to it. You'd think someone like me would be elated with the reunion, wanting it for so long. And even when it dropped, Axl was nowhere to be found in support of it. Major lost opportunity, and for what? Far as I can tell there was no good reason. During this time I posted on mygnrforum and was on there virtually every single day. But if we couldn't get that, both Nu-GN'R and Velvet Revolver were nice consolation prizes. Axl, Slash, Duff, Izzy/Gilby, Matt/Steve were GN'R to me. In terms of the rivalry, I very much sided with Slash and despite loving the Chinese Democracy songs in demo form and performed live, and being very eager for the album, I wanted a reunion more than anything. Walking Papers is an American rock band from Seattle, Washington, formed in 2012.The band was formed by singer/guitarist Jeff Angell of The Missionary Position, and drummer Barrett Martin formerly of Screaming Trees. After the split I was very much into what Axl was doing and the same goes for Slash. ![]() I am a huge fan of the lineups from 1985-1994 but never got to see them live. ![]() Click to expand. You don't have to take anyone's word for it.
